This is not yellow Pepsi . . . it's olive oil from the trees in our yard.
The traditional way to pick olives is to spread a tarp or blanket under the tree then strip the fruit off by hand or with a small rake. The olives fall down onto the blanket.
These are olives from our landlady's trees.
She will get enough oil for a year with plenty of extra to share with us.
Olive trees take a long time to grow and mature, but they also last for hundreds of years. A good oil supply in Jordan is a sign of stability and prosperity.
