The Dead Sea is SALTY

This week the Hammonds invited us to go with them to visit some of the poor areas in southern Jordan where LDS Charities has been donating wheelchairs to local societies.

We traveled south from Amman down, down, down to the dead sea which is the lowest point on earth at 997 feet below sea level.

The water is VERY SALTY.  I put my hand into the water and it actually stung my skin.

If you go for a swim you could wash off in this classy shower.

The south end of the Dead Sea is where the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were located.
